How the timer keeps time
When you press Start, Hourora notes the exact moment the timer should end and saves it in this browser. The time left is always worked out from that end time and your device clock, so the timer does not drift when the tab sleeps in the background, and it carries on after a reload.
While it runs, the time left also shows in the tab title, so you can keep an eye on it from another tab.
Sound, notifications and full screen
The chime is a short, soft three-note tone made in your browser; browsers only allow sound after you have clicked on the page, which pressing Start does. If you want a reminder while you work in another window, tick the notification box: Hourora asks your browser for permission only then.
Full-screen mode shows only the time and the controls, in large figures that are easy to read across a room. It never shows advertisements.
