How it works
For Herat (34.33° N, 62.17° E) Hourora computes the sun's position for each date and solves for each prayer: Fajr 18°, Isha 18°. Asr uses the Hanafi shadow rule. The times are shown in Afghanistan Time, daylight saving included.
The default is the method usually published in Afghanistan: University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi. You can choose another method, the Asr rule and the high-latitude rule above; the choice is saved on this device.
Local mosques publish their own timetables. They may use another method, round differently, add their own precautionary minutes, compute for a reference point elsewhere in the city, or set the iqamah later than the start time. Differences of one to five minutes are normal. Where your mosque's timetable differs, follow your mosque.
